On May 19th, 2024, ALL10 Breaking made history by hosting the first Youth Bgirl Championships in the USA, held in Washington DC. This groundbreaking event was part of the annual Inspired Jam 1v1 Battles, drawing breakers from across the DC, VA, and MD areas. Inspired Jam is dedicated to motivating youth to pursue breaking and challenge themselves in a 1vs1 competition format.
This year's event was particularly special with the introduction of the Youth Bgirl Championships. Young Bgirls under the age of 12 competed for the DVM Youth Bgirl Championship Title, marking a historic moment as breaking becomes recognized as an Olympic sport. The battles garnered significant attention and were featured on NBC on May 20th.
The event was a resounding success, with over 100 attendees celebrating ALL10 Breaking’s 14-year legacy of hosting events, summer camps, classes, and more. Our passion for teaching breaking to youth has driven us to the forefront of creating comprehensive curriculums and educational programs for kids, teens, and adults.
A highlight of the event was the use of the Breaking Score system, a well-established method for scoring breakdance battles. This system, in use for over 11 years, has traveled across the United States, providing valuable feedback to young dancers on areas for improvement and clarifying the criteria for winning. It serves as a guiding tool rather than dictating dance styles. Judges undergo rigorous training to ensure fairness and equality.
As breaking heads towards the 2024 Paris Olympics, ALL10 Breaking remains committed to advancing the sport and art form. For over a decade, we have been dedicated to expanding nationally by 2030, bringing our structured programs to help kids, teens, and adults learn breaking in a safe and inspiring environment. Our ALL10 Certified coaches undergo background checks, curriculum training, and continuous professional development to maintain the highest standards of safety and education.
